THOARD (At 21 km from le Vieil Aiglun)

Located in the wonderful Valley of the Duyes, the hilltop village of Thoard dates from the 12th century.  It still escapes mass tourism.  Once a year, a typical agricultural fair is being held in August.

LURS  (At 33 km from le Vieil Aiglun)

One more hilltop village, which dominates the Durance Valley.  The origin of  Lurs is to be found before the 9th century.  It has been completely abandonned before it's restoration during the 20th century.  Plantations of olive trees are surounding this attractive Provencal village.

MOUSTIERS SAINTE-MARIE  (At 48 km from le Vieil Aiglun)

This 5th century town is located at the neighbourhood of the Lake of Sainte-Croix and the Verdon Canyon.  It is the most touristic town of the Alpes de Haute Provence.  Surounded by cliffs, Moustiers Sainte-Marie has many reasons to atract so many people: narrow streets, many restaurants & shops, typical colours and the Provencal atmosphere.
